Lovers of Lulu Guinness' iconic '50s-style bags will enjoy the new Resort collection, from her trademark novelty bags to glamorous party purses in typical Guinness style.

Lulu Guinness bags are a perfect combination of retro styling and glamour. Women who carry a Lulu Guinness bag show that they are not following the crowd but have some individuality.

In 2006 the maverick British handbag designer received an OBE from the Queen of England, for her contribution to British fashion and her designs have been featured in fashion exhibitions in museums around the world.

Packed full of covetable clutches, party purses and her trademark often humorous, novelty bags’ the latest resort collection offers up cool retro looks along with some party-popping purses.

This diminutive designer’s individual designs are fast becoming covetable collectables, particularly her novelty purses. They are also conversation starters at parties, like the new updated Resort version of Lulu’s instantly recognizable padded lips clutch or Guiness's unmistakable shop designs, this time featuring poodle parlors.

Says Jennie Hunt of Handbags and Gladrags, whose site was the first to sell Lulu Guinness bags online, "My new lust from the resort collection is the Two Tone Patent Mary in aubergine and black. It is a grown-up retro style in a gorgeous winter-berry color that is hot for this season but will last as a classic.”

Other bags which reflect the current fashion trends for textured fabrics, frills, bows, patent, and polka dot and right-on-trend geometric prints. Currently, according to Jeannie, the newer Pollyanna clutch and handbag designs, particularly in patent have been the most sought-after styles.”

Seaside Themes for Spring Summer 2009

Available in stores and online from March 2009 is the Lulu Guinness Spring 2009 collection. This delightful range has a very fishy theme, with seaside prints such as kissing fish, seafood restaurant shells and starfish.
